Moldovan residents who enter the territory of the Republic of Moldova for a period not exceeding six months with vehicles older than 7 years, will no longer pay the customs guarantee payment for temporary import of vehicles.
Moldovan Parliament adopted today the corresponding changes in the Law regarding the import into the Republic of Moldova and the export of goods from its territory by natural persons. The new rules will guarantee equal rights to non-residents and residents entering Moldova with vehicles registered abroad.
Previously, citizens with permanent residence in Moldova entering the country with cars older than 7 years were obliged to pay at the border a guarantee deposit for temporary import, with a refund when leaving the country.
Within a month, the Government will approve the mechanism that will ensure compliance with the prescribed period of temporary import of such vehicles.
The new rules will take effect after publication of the new law in the Official Gazette “Monitorul Oficial”. |
