The Ministry of Economy and Trade (MET) issued 2 820 authorizations to Moldovan economic operators for exports to the EU under the Autonomous Trade Preferences (ATP) from the beginning of the year until 15 September 2009.

For wine 723 export authorizations were issued to the EU countries. The Moldovan winemakers exported 700 000 dal of wine production in the period mentioned, using this quota completely.

According to MET data, for white sugar export were issued 726 authorizations, this quota being used in a proportion of 88.7%.

For barley export, MET issued 362 authorizations. Thus, the quota offered by the EU for this category of products was used in a proportion of 50.62% so far.

Also, for corn export were issued 1 009 authorizations, which means that 98.52% of the quota were used.

According to the data registered by the specialized EU authorities, the quota for wheat was used in a proportion of 100%, and 30 000 tonnes of wheat were exported.

The ATPs were provided to Moldova from 1 March 2008, with a view to liberalize the trade with the EU and ensure prerequisites for a favorable economic and investment attraction environment.
