Moldova's majority parliamentary coalition gave a vote of confidence to the new government headed by Prime Minister Vladimir Filat, at a plenary meeting today. Vladimir Filat will have four deputy prime ministers: Foreign and European Integration Minister Iurie Leanca (PLDM), Deputy Prime Minister in charge of social issues Ion Negrei (Liberal Party, PL), Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Valeriu Lazar (Democratic Party, PD), Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Moldova's reintegration Victor Osipov (Our Moldova Alliance, AMN).
Victor Bodiu (PLDM) will hold the office of state minister. The new government will be made up of 16 ministries led by the following ministers: Foreign and European Integration Minister - Iurie Leanca (PLDM), Interior Minister - Victor Catan (PLDM), Justice Minister - Alexandru Tanase (PLDM), Health Minister - Vladimir Hotineanu (PLDM), Finance Minister - Veaceslav Negruta (PLDM), Defence Minister - Vitalie Marinuta (PL), Youth and Sport Minister - Ion Ciobanu (PL), Environment Minister - Gheorghe Salaru (PL), Transport and Road Infrastructure Minister - Anatol Salaru (PL), Economics Minister - Valeriu Lazar (PD), Labour, Social Protection and Family Minister - Valentina Buliga (PD), Construction and Regional Development Minister - Marcel Raducan (PD), Culture Minister - Boris Focsa (PD), Agriculture and Food Industry Minister - Valeriu Cosarciuc (AMN), Education Minister - Leonid Bujor (AMN), Information Technologies and Communications Minister - Alexandru Oleinic (AMN) The governor of Moldova's Gagauzian autonomy, Mihail Formuzal, and Gheorghe Duca, the head of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences, are cabinet members ex-officio. The first government meeting will be held on 25th of September 2009 at 22:00. |
