A Moldovan delegation led by Prime Minister Vlad Filat will participate in a meeting of the Moldova-EU cooperation council due on 20-22 December. The participants in the event are to sign a joint declaration which will establish the prospect of Moldova's collaboration with the European Union.
A decision on the delegation's nominal composition was approved under a governmental decision on 16 December. Thus, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Iurie Leanca, Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman, as well as the head of Moldova's mission at the European Unon, Daniela Cujba, will participate in the meeting in Brussels. Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Iurie Leanca told journalists that the document due to be signed would point out quantitative and qualitative changes in the Brussels-Chisinau relations after new authorities came to power in Moldova. The sides will set the most important objectives to be fulfilled in 2010 and after that. Leanca said that, despite the fact that the Brussels meeting will be held before the winter holidays, Moldova's delegation plans to meet European officials. Vlad Filat said that the participants in the meeting of the Moldova-EU Cooperation Council are to unveil the whole set of actions which have been and are to be carried out by Moldova in terms of European integration. For us, the Moldova-EU joint declaration represents a serious document which sets more tasks to us, Filat said. |
