On 8-12 March 2010, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Iurie Leanca, will pay working visits to Finland, Norway and Sweden.
The main purpose of these visits is to boost bilateral dialogue with the Nordic countries, identifying ways to support reforms in the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova and attracting foreign investments in this country.
In Helsinki, the head of the Moldovan diplomacy will meet the Speaker of the Parliament Sauli Niinistö, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament Pertti Salolainen, the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen, the Minister of Migration and European Affairs Astrid Thors, and the Adviser for Foreign Affairs to the President of the Republic of Finland Aleksi Harkonen.
Agenda of the visit in Norway includes meetings with the Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, the Minister of Justice and the Police Knut Storberget, Secretary of State for Trade and Industry Rikke Lind, State Secretary of Defense Espen Barth Eide, Chair of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee of the Parliament Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide, Managing Director of Norwegian Institute for Strategic Studies Svierre Diesen.
During his visit to Sweden, Iurie Leanca has scheduled meetings with Dyrssen Helena and Mikael Sandström, Secretaries of State at the Prime Minister's Office, with Members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Parliament, with the Minister for Trade Ewa Björling, the Minister for International Development Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson, the Director General of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) Anders Nordström. In Stockholm, the Minister will hold a lecture about Moldova at Foreign Policy Institute.
During his diplomatic tour, Iurie Leanca will meet representatives of business communities, journalists and representatives of the Moldovan community in the region.
